WEEK-END WEATHER.

_ The weather outlook for the week-end is decidedly unpromising. Mr. D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, re ports the approach of a heavy westerly gale, and indications generally are for changeable and much colder weather, with heavy showers. Wild conditions will probably prevail in Cook and Foveaux Strait this evening, and similar conditions may be expected on the West Coast of the South Island. The gale will probably be followed by a storm from the southward, and miow may be looked for on th<i high levels.
