NEWSPAPER STATEMENTS DENIED.
NEW YORK, 24th April. Mrs. Tlniyer indignantly denies a newspaper statement that she had said she would a thousand times rather b© dead than be Mr. Ismay. She states she telegraphed to Mr. Ismay regretting the horrible post-mortem examination to which he- was being subjected, and advising him to "have courage." On the motion of the chairman (Mr. R. Fletcher), the Wellington Harbour Board carried the following motion last evening, all standing : — "That this board desires to place on record its profound regret at the recent disastrous wreck of the .5.5. Titanic, with its appalling • loss of \iie J and to express its deep sympathy with relatives and friends ot those lost."
