[BY TELEGRAPH — PEESS ASSOCIATION.} ASHBURTON,, This Day. An accident happened to the Mount Somers branch line train* this morning, at a spot near Ha-ckthorne-road, about twenty miles from Ashburton. The local railway officials are very reticent, but it appears that for some cause not yet known the engine and ten wagons became derailed, and tore the permanent way up for < a distance of about ten chains. The carriages did not leave the xaile, and, excepting that an axle of one of the trucks was broken the train sufered no damage. Drags have been despatched from Ashburton to convey the. passengers to town.
