IMPORTANT CHANGES ANNOUNCED.

By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 11th April. A number of important naval changes are announced. Admiral Sir Hedworth Meux ' succeeds Admiral Sir Arthur W. Moore as Commander-in-Chief at Portsmouth, Admiral Sir Archibald B. Milne succeeds Admiral Sir Edmund Po© as Ccmmander-in-Chief in the • Mediterranean, Rear-Admiral A. H. Litnpus., in command of the Home Fleet, succeeds Rear-Admiral H. P. Williams ac Naval Adviser to the Turkish Government. [The name of Sir Hedworth Lamb ton (now Sir Hedworth Meux) was fnmiliar during the South African War, wh&A he commanded the Naval Brigade at Ladysmith, and he afterwards sought fame in another field as Liberal candidate at Newcastle-on-Tyne. His Parliamentary aspirations were not realised, and in the iollowing year he was selected by His Majesty to act as commodore of tho Victoria and Albert. In 1904 he went out to the Mediterranean to com mand the Third Cruiser Squadron, and from 1908 to 1910, was Communder-in-Chief on tho China Station. Last yeai he assumed the name of Meux in order to fulfil the condition of a will under which he was left a lot of money. Ad "miral Milne entered the Navy in 1869, was A.D.C. to Lord Chclsmford in tho Zulu War, anl served in the Egyptian campaign. For two years he commanded the Royal Yachts, and since then has hold several important commands. Admiral Limpus was born in 1863. Ho saw service at Snakin, and also in South Africa.]
