THREATENING SKIES.
- » The strong westerly winds which have swept through Cook' Strait during the past two days have now brought along heavy clouds and gloomy skies, which threaten rain in the near future. Southeasterly winds prevail in the Southern districts, and strong westerlies are reported in the North, while the barometer is falling about Cook Strait. These conditions indicate the existence of a storm area to the westwarct, which is 1 likely to vicit us with considerable rain, and strong northerly winds over these parts. The general forecast indicates increasing aud squally winds generally, misty, cloudy, and wet weather, with rivers rising in parts, and snow is likely to follow on higher. levels in the South.
