CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR CONVENTION
The eighteenth annual conventftm of the Wellington Provincial Christian Endeavour Union was continued yesterday. A consecration service was held in the Webb-«tr«et Primitive Methodist Church at 4 p.m., and at 5.45 p.m. a tea-meet-ing was held in the K.ent-t«rrace Schoolroom. Last evening there was an attendance of about six hundred at the grand junior demonstration in the Concert' Chamber of the Town Hall. The chair was occupied by Mr. S. H. Mudge, retiring president of the union. Vocal and_ other items were contributed by the various tranche* whoso member wero in attendance. It wae announced during the evening that the'Eggers Missionary Shield > had been again won by the Wanganui Baptist Christian Endeavour Society, which held it last year. The twenty-niuo members of this junior society contributed an average of 14s 4d each, during the year, in support of missionary work. A message of greeting wae read from the Australasian Superintendent of the Christian Endeavour Union.
