The first event, one mile, was between G. M'Kay and M. Ford. Both contestants were even in points for the Hunky Pory Grand Aggregate Cup and gold medals, and this race was to' decide the holder of the cup for the ensuing year. M'Kay started on 85yds, while Ford was on the scratch mark, and had to face the strong wind. At the beginning of the third lap Ford succeeded in picking up M'Kay, remained there til] the bell, and then went out and retained his lead, winning by about one and a-half lengths. No time was taken. The second event, half a mile, which was run in semi-darkness, was won by A. C. Walker from scratch. Lyon. the limit man, kept well in the lead until the home bend, when Walker came up and won by a length in good style. There were four starters.
