The first event, one mile, was between G. M'Kay and M. Ford. At the beginning of the third lap Ford succeeded in picking up M'Kay, remained there til] the bell, and then went out and retained his lead, winning by about one and a-half lengths. No time was taken. The second event, half a mile, which was run in semi-darkness, was won by A. C. Walker from scratch. Lyon. the limit man, kept well in the lead until the home bend, when Walker came up and won by a length in good style. There were four starters.
