NE TEMERE DECREE.
FEDERAL ACTION URGED. By Telegraph.— Prm Astoclation.— Copyright. (Received January 27, 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The united Protestant demonstration adopted a series of resolutions against the Ne Temere Decree asking the Fedoral Government to prohibit its promulgation and secure its nullification. SUGGESTED APPEAL TO THE VATICAN. (Received January 27, 11 a.m.) MONTREAL, 26th January. It is understood that strong representations will be made by the Catholic authorities in Canada to the Vatican regarding the Ne Temere decree. The Vatican, it is said, will be asked to exclude Canada from the operation of the decree, in the same way as Germany has been excluded. ' OTTAWA, 26th January. The Government has decided not to deal with the Ne Temere question in Parliament, but will instead take a case to the highest Court.
