Last year 4,061,780 tons of coal were exported frq'm Newcastle, the estimated value of which was £2,116,929, which is an> increase of 163,794 tons and in value of £105,405. ' The exports to New Zealand totalled 333,208 tons," compared with 318,495 tons for the previous year. Exports oi other items decreased by £30,752.. whilst imports increased by £164,043. , .
