HAPPY SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE. |BI TBLBORAPn — PRESS ASSOCIAIIf N.] AUCKLAND, 21st December. This morning tho Tramway Union delegates waited on the company's representatives, and demanded an extra £d per hour for the general labourers and car cleaners, tho trimmers at the power house, and tho pitmen. The company's representatives decided to grant the extra £d per hour to the general labourers and car cleaners, and an additional per hour to the pitmen, but declined to concede the extra ijl asked for tho trimmers. The concessions thus granted bring the total concessions made by tho company to the men to over £10,000 per annum, as compared with the £16,000 demanded. Tho amended offer was subsequently accepted by meetings of tho men, and it is generally ■understood that both sides are prepared to be reasonable in drawing up working conditions.
