BROOKLYN BAPTIST CHURCH.
Despite the inclem&noy of the weather, the Brooklyn Baptist Church was filled to overflowing last evening by a large assemblage of ' church members and friends, who had gathered to extend a welcome to the newly-appointed pastor, ,-Rev. -W. H. Hinton, and Mrs. Hinton. Mr. Hinton, who comes from the Thames Baptist Church, accepted a unanimous call to the pastorate of the Brooklyn Church some weeks ago, and commenced his ministry on Sunday last. ' Speakers on behalf of the city and suburban Baptist churches, and also of local churches, ex* tended a cordial welcome to Mr. and, Mrs. Hinton. The speeches were interspersed with musipal items, and after refreshments an enjoyable evening was closed by the singing of the Doxology.
