TAITA CEMETERY BOARD.
m A meeting of the Taita Cemetety Board was held in .the Council Chambers, Lower Hutt, yesterday. There were present Messrs. M. W. Welch (chairman), W. Judd, W. Knight, Wakeham, and W. M'Ewafl. The chairman reported that he had been negotiating with Father Lane with reference to the use of the Catholic portion of the cemetery, fie had asked for something towards keeping that part of the grounds in order. No definite reply had yet been received. It was resolved that the caretaker be directed to give one more day per week for the improvement of /the cemetery grounds. t)r. Harding wrote expressing hi« intention to continue to act as a member of the board. The matter of cutting down large trees overhanging plots owned by Petone residents was left in fche hands of Mr. M'Ewan to arrange for. A fifftncinl statement showed that the fund* 6f th« board were in a satisfactory condition, there being a sum of £30 to credit.
