YOUNG AUSTRALIA LEAGUE BOYS.
EN ROUTE TO AMERICA. Dressed in neat blue uniforms and white-covered peak caps, the forty-twd mpmberg of the Young Australia League Boys stepped ashore from the steamer Moeraki this morning on her arrival from Sydney, completing another stage of their journey lo America, They are a well-disciplined sturdy lot of young Austrab'ans, and they created a very favourable impression as they marched, the band playing the while, through the streets to the V.M.C.A. building in Tapper Willie-street. The boys' ages fangs from two diminutive bandsmen of ten years to some sturdy ottes in the twenties. The average age of Hie party ia 154 years. The boys intend to tour Amoricaas a return visit to that paid to Australia by Major PeixOtto and bis American' Boys, They will leave _on Friday by the Maitai for San Francisco. On arrival at the V.M.C.A. this morning they were welcomed by Mr. H, N. Holmes, general secretary, who extended to them a hearty welcome. Mr. 13. M. Ryan (Boys' Department) also addressed them, and informed them of the arrangements made for their entertainment during, their short stay. Mr. A. Molloy (Auckland) on behalf of the Australian Football League players of the Dominion (the boys have two teams which play tjflfcr llicso rules), also welcomed them r nH' Director Symons replied. The boys^Ru veyed their thanks fof the reception "by a series _of weird cries. Undef Mr, Ryan's guidance, parties of the lads visited the Government Printing • Office, 1 whilst othere went sight-seeing by themselves, At 1 o'clock the whole company was entertained to luncheon at tho V.M.C.A. by some Australians. This afternoon, a small party is being held at the V.M.C.A., at which the Hon. G. Fowlds, Minister of Education, ia to make a short address, This evening the company will give an. entertainment ih the Town Hall in conjunction, with West's Pictures.
