MONTHLY CUSTOMS RETURNS.
For the month ended 31st July, 1911, Customs revenue to the ,n mount of £86,707 7e 9d, and beer duty totalling £822 19s 3d were collected at Wellington. The figures for the corresponding month of last yeaf were : --Customs revenue, £62,835 6s 4d; beer duty. £877 le 2d.

This morning Mr. Bolton informs us that he will contest the election against all comers as an independent Conservative — unless Mr. M.iesey persuades him to stand down. His Excellency the Governor will bo present at the Poster Ball, to be held on Thursday.
