RIFLE SHOOTING.

NEW COUNCIL OF MANAGEMENT The Dominion Rifle Association controlled its last meeting at Trentham in March last. Under the new regime it passed out of existence, after many years i of service to the cause of rifleshooting in New Zealand, and particularly of management of tho national rifle meetings yearly at Trentham. The new Council ot Management under the Defence Act has been appointed, and its personnel is announced, as follows :— Executive Officer— Colonel R. J. Collins, C.M.G., 1.5.0., V.D., A.D.C. Committee— Lieut. -Colonel E. Hughes. V.D., commanding 7th Regiment, West Coast Rifles (Wellington); Lieut.-Colo-nel F. B. Cresswell, V.D., Reserve of Officers (Canterbury) ; Lieut. -Colonel J. B. M'Clymont, 14th Regiment, {South Otago Rifles (Otago) ; Major J. G. Hughes, D.5.0., attached to General Staff, Wellington ; Major C. H. Turner, Sth Regiment, Wellington Rifles (VVelhngton); Major D. Mathieson, Senior Cadets, Wellington; Captain S. A. Grant, N.Z.5.C.,, Brigade-Major, Otago Mounted Rifles (Otago); Captain R. G. Cox, 3rd Auckland Regiment (Auckland ; Captain J, Potter, 3rd Auckland Mounted Rifles (Auckland); Lieut. P. Doull, No. 2 Company New Jiealar.d Garrison Artillery (Otago); President W. F.
