For two yea.rs she has, been away from New Zealand, the period having been spent in travel through Java, Australia, North and South America. 'New Zealand will not be reached for another two years, as Mrs. Hern intends to "do" Africa and India after Japan. Mr, W. C. Deller (Wairarapa) and his sister, Miss Deller, are staying with relatives in Hertfordshire. They expect to leave for New Zealand "about., October, after seeing a good deal of the British Isles. Lady Ward will cha.peronc a party of New Zealanders at the Eighty Club Ball, to tako place at the Savoy, Hotel. The Counte.33 of Chesterfield will receho the guests. , The biggest and heaviest chip Dumbarton has ever seen has just been launched by Messrs. Denny. It has been built to the order of the Now iJealand Shipping Company, and lias been christened tho c.c. Remuera, Mrs. A. E. G. Rhodes having performed tho ceremony.
