THE YONGALA.
» FINDING OF MARINE BOARD, " BEYOND HUMAN KEN." "INTO THE REALMS, OF CONJECTURE." By Teleffaph.— Press Association. -Copyright. (Received June 21, 10 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. The Marine Board delivered its finding regarding the loss of the Adelaide Steamship Company's steamer Yongala. After lengthily reviewing the evidence the court declares that while it ia gratifying and reassuring that the vessel's stability and seaworthiness remain unassailable, and the competency and carefulness of Captain Knight unimpeachable, tho board simply finds that, after becoming lost to view by the lightkeeper at Dent Island, the fate of the Yongala passes beyond human ken into the realms of conjecture — to add one more to the long roll of mysteries of the sea. The board commends the company for its prompt action in endeavouring by every means at, it^ disposal to obtain information regarding the whereabouts of the # Yongala. From" the evidence of some experienced shipmasters, the board is confirmed in the opinion that the risk of navigating the Queensland coast is considerably enhanced during the hurricane months, and thinks it should bo generally conceded that the only element of safety is to be found in securing the best anchorage available. The board adds that several harbours of refuge exist along this part of the coast.
