A QUARTER'S EARNINGS. ""* : The State collieries started the quarter ended 31st March with a balance in hand of £47,609 (including cash £27,441 and advances £20,168). Proceeds from the sals of coal were £57,713, as against £69,739 for the corresponding quarter of 1910. The sum of £1362 was transferred in respect to interest on the cost of construction of the (irey-mouth-Point Elizabeth railway. The. expenditure included £76,842 annual appropriation, £2275 interest on debentures, leaving a balance of £27,568 to carry forward.
