An apology has now been offered, with a promise not to repeat the slander. [Mr. Churchill acted as war correspondent for the London Morning Post during the Boer war. He was mad© prisoner, but after being in custody for about a 'month, made liis escape. He ran the gauntlet for many days, during which he covered some 300 miles of country, and then reached safety.]
