FOR ASSISTING IMPRISONED UNIONISTS. LABOUR COUNCIL'S SCHEME. IN DEFENCE OF PRINCIPLES, j By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Coyjrleht. (Received April 8, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Labour Council is considering a scheme for establishing a trades 'unionists' pi-inciples defence fund, for the purpose of assisting trades unionists imprisoned for things said or done at the instigation of unions in defence of the principles of unionism. Only members contributing to unions will benefit by payments from the fund, which will be at the rate of two pounds a week for the wife and five shillings each for the children of the imprisoned unionist.
