Six-round bouts wero the order of the evoniag. Sharplin (Ashburton) beat Watson (Timaru); Fitzsimmons beat Lister (both Timaru men). Middle-weights: Hegarty (Timaru) beat Ellis (Wellington). This was a splendid event, practically deciding who is the best man in the class in the Dominion. Hegarty led all the way, and Avon easily on points.
