RAILWAY FREIGHTS.
LOWERED- BY U.S. INTER-STATEI COMMISSION. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. NEW YORK, 26th February. The Inter-iState Commerce Commission, has lowered the railway tariff on nearly all merchandise by 18 per cent, in the Eastern States, and 16 per cent, in the Western States. [It was stated on Saturday last that tho United States Inter-State Commission's refusal to permit an increase in railway freights has greatly excited the London Stock Market. All American railway companies' stocks dropped sever?! points, and British railway- etocks were similarly affected.] RALLY IN STOCK MARKET. FAVOURABLY REFLECTED ON. LONDON SIOCK EXCHANGE. (Received February 27, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 26th February. A rally in American railway stocks is favourably reflected on tho Stock Exchange.
