AUCTION AND PROPERTY SALES

Messrs. W. H. Turnbull and Co. advertise particulars of several properties in their replace advertisement. Particular attention is directed to a section, situated in Oriental Bay having a frontage of 35 feet by a depth of 220 feet, also to some residential properties situated in vaa-ious parts of the city. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., will sell at auction on Wednesday next, at 2.30 p.m.. the plant, tools, and furnishings of a pastry-cook. The sale will be held on the premises 175, Riddifordstrcpt, and will be entirely without reserve. TII2 Farmers' Distributing Company will hold a special sale 10-morrow at 2 p.m., of purebred laying hens from tho yards of Mr. Willoughby Knight, of Low er Hutt. Mr! Harry A. Before Mr. .W. G. Riddell, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court jesterday, Frank Brown admitted, and Michael Black denied, a charge of having shown threatening behaviour in Courtenp.y-pla.co oa the 28th January. The trouble arose out of a brawl iv a fish-shop, and tho evidence showed that Brown was the aggressor. The information against Black (tor whom Mr. O'Leary appeared) was dismis&ed; Black was given 3evea daye in which to pay a fino of £2, with £1 3s costs and expenses, default bein>*. fourteen days in gaol..
