SYDNEY GAS COMPANY.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. COMPARISON WITH ENGLISH PRICES. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. SYDNEY, 30th January. At the half-yearly meeting of the Gas Company it was stated that the profit was £69,366. A dividend of 9s per share was declared. The chairman said he was at a loss to understand the recent attacks on the company. It was absurd to say tney could supply gas here as cheaply as in England. Labour and machinery were dearer. They had made a reduction on Ist January, and when the extensions at the works were in working order the price would again come under consideration.
