MARRIAGE LICENSES.
BISHOP AND CHANCELLOR AT VARIANCE. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 28th January. The Bishop of London (Dr. Ingrain) disagreec with the position taken up by the Chancello-r of the Diocese (Dr. Trietram) regarding the issue of marriage licenses. It is possible that the difficulty, will reach the Law Courts. [The Bishop recently instructed Dr. Tristram that no license for a marriage with a divorced person, or that of a person with his deceased wife' 6 sister, waa to be issued without the Bishop's personal assent in writing. Dr. Tristram replied that he was bound to observe the law of the Kingdom, even when it waa at variance with the Bishop's opinion.]
