O HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The Commerce and Tourists Division of the Department of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists, has received the following cablegram of market report from the High Commissioner tor New Zealand dated London, 3rd December, 1910. (Quotations unless otherwise specified are average maiket prices on spot.) ' Mutton.— The market is slightly weaker, with less demand. River Plate mutton is in large supply. Stocks oi New Zealand mutton on hand aie light and are firmly held, in few hands on. account of the small shipments expected. ■ Canterbury, 4£d per lb nominal ; North Island, 4d; liive* Plate, 3|d per lb. , ' Lamb. — The market is steady owing to local demand. Buyers are not inclined to make forward purchases of lamb at pr&sent prices. Arrivals are likely to be heavy. Australian, s^d per lb. Beef. — The maiket is weak. Supplies of River Plate beef are heavy. New Zealand hinds, 3|d, fores, 2jjd per lb. Butter. — The market is quiet, but steady, for be^t quality only. The market i.s weak and inactive for second class quality. Choicest New Zealand butter, 112s; Australian, 108s; Danish, 117s; Siberian, 103s pur cwt. Cheese.— There is better demand and the market is steady. Coloured, 575, white, 56s per cwt, Hemp. — The market is Jat and nothing whatever doing. New Zealand good fair on spot per .ton, £22; fair grade, £20' 10s : fair current manila, £19 10s. Forward shipment about the same. The output from Manila for the week was 23,000 bale**. j Cocksfoot Seed. — The market is quiet, j but holders are firm. Bright clean New Zealand cocksfoot seed, weighing 171b per bushel, 74s per cwt i Wool.— The market is steady and ' prices are well maintained.
