* On Friday next the Wellington Musical Union will give a Christinas performance of. .Handel's " Messiah " at the Town Hall. The following soloists have been engaged: — Miss Rita Lyons (of Christ- 4 church), soprano; Miss May Driscoll. contralto ; Mr. C. H. Stephens (late of London), tenor ; Mr. James A. Doherty (who. until his arrival in the Dominion, was a pupil of Signor Gaicia), baritone. Mr. F. W. V. Vine. F.R.C.0., etc.. late organist of Tewkesbury Abbey, England, will preside at the organ. Theie will also be a string orchestra. The whole) will be under the baton of Mr. Bobert Parker. The box plaa is vow .pjagn.at the .Dresden. " _
