SYNOPSIS OP THE PAST 48 HOOKS The cyclone which caused rain to fall in the northernmost districts lias passed to tiie eastwaid of East Cape, though still aftectiiig the eastern coast of the North Island to die extent of a heavy swell. Showery and misty weather was experienced in the northern dutricts op Saturday, and on Sunday morning in parts, but a general improvement has smee taken place. Elsewhere fair though hazy vreather has prevailed. Easterly winds still prevail northward of New Plymouth aud Napier, but elsewhere the winds veered, and northerlies and westerlies now prevail.
