SHOPS AND OFFICES ACT.
• TO THE EDITOja. Sir, — I would like to draw the attention of our member of Parliament to the utter wrongness of clause 13, which allows a man to employ his wife, but the widow may not employ her children. Now, Sir, I know several cases in this district where a woman, having lost her liusband and having a family to provide for, has gallantly tackled business, working hard and long hours to clothe and educate her children (more credit to them). Yet clause 13, if made law, not only prevents them from doing this, but in some cases they will lose what little they have. Hoping some abler pen than mine will take up the subject. _I am, etc., A.
