The Royal Society has awarded the Albert Medal to Madame Curie, the distinguished French scientist. [This message is printed as received, ! but it is probably the Copley Medal which has been given. This is the most highly prized giit of the society, and is awarded only to distinguished savants, British or foreign. The Albert Medal, in the gift of the Crown, is awarded for gallantry in saving life on land or at sea. Madame Curie was associated with her late husband iv much valuable research work in chemistry, notably in the discovery of radium.
