TARIFF REFORM.
OMITTED FROM COLONIAL PROGRAMME. MARKED ABSTENTION FROM ENGLISH AFFAIR&. LONDON, 2nd December. The Daily News (Liberal and Freetrade) says the most significant thing about the resolutions which New Zealand and Australia intend to submit to the Imperial Conference is the deliberate omission of reference to Imperial preference. It is equally certain, the journal adds, that Canada and South Africa will not raitse the question. "So much," continues the News, "for the great colonial hunger and the great colonial offer ! The colonies are not bothering their heads about colonial preference or Tariff Refoim and have no intention of interfer- , ing in English affairs.'-
