"WHILST TEMPORARILY INSANE."
The inquest connected with the death of Bayldoin Ewen, the accountant who committed suicide on Saturday last, was continued to-day, before ij/r. W. R. 1 Haselden, district coroner, when Mrs. ' Ewen gave her evidence. Deceased, she stated, had not been in good health for j some time, and of late had suffered fpom insomnia, and was much depressed in consequence. For some time he had had only work of an intermittent nature, and was last employed in the office of the Official Assignee. He owed no ' money ; in fact, he had a- comfortable I bank account, and his wife also had ' money in her name. Deoeased was a toi tal abstainer and rarely smoked. On Saturday morning Mts. Ewen asked him i whether he would like to come out for 1 a walk, and was answered in the affirmative. While Mrs. Ewen wa& getting dressed her husband went into the bathroom, and there she found him a little ( later with his throat cut. A verdict of suicide whilst temporarily insane was returned.
