CHOLERA SPREADING.
CASES IN EUROPE AND AMERICA. Bj Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. MARSEILLES, sth October. Three passengers from the' East arrived at Marseilles suffering from cholera. Passengers who were in contact with the suspects have been isolated, and every precaution is being taken to prevent the disease gaining a hold in the city. Officials insist that Marseilles cannot be considered infected. NEW YORK, sth October. the steamer Santa Ana, from Naples, has been quarantined at New York owing to the presence of a cholera case on board. A poll of the Feilding ratepayers was taken yesterday on a proposal to borrow £7500 for the purchase of a site and the erection of a municipal town hall.
