Twelve bookmakers were licensed. Results :—: — Tomoana Hurdles, of 100 soys ; one mile and three-quarters. — Centaur, 9.7, 1; Appin, 9.9, 2; Captain Jingle, 10.2, 3. Time, 3min 17sec. Won by a length and a half. Scratched — Rangihaeta. On passing the stand for the first time round, Sleacombe fell, his rider, J. Paramore, escaping with a severe shaking Maiden Hack, of 100 soys; seven furlongs. — Falsetto, 1 ; Gold "Circle, 2 ; Boyne Water, 3. Scratched — Rangikapua, Belle Ami, Montelcone, and Killiara. Won by a length and a half. King Edward Handicap, of 170 soys, 1^ mile.— Bliss, 6.7, 1; Kopu, 7.7, 2; Separator, 6.10, 3. All started. Won from end to end by ten lengths, length and half between second and third. Time, Imin 53sec.
