AUSTRALIAN DEFENCES. BRITISH NAVAL OFFICER'S COMING VISIT.
Bj Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 17th July. It is officially announced that Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson, commanding the Coastguard and Reserves at Portsmouth since 1904, will visit Australia at the Commonwealth Government's invitation. Captain F. Haworth-Booth, Lieutenant J. A. Slee, and Staff-Paymastor H. W. X Marristy will accompany him. The Admiral has been instructed ta gather at tho Homo ports any information likely to be useful on the visit. [Sir Reginald Henderson was born in 1846, entorod tho Navy in 1860, became lieutenant in 1869, commander in 1881, and captain in 1887. He was second in command of the Invincible at the bombardment of Alexandria, and afterwards commanded an armoured train at that place.]
