THE ARTS CLUB. SOCIAL EVENING.

An enjoyable concert was given at the Arts Club on Saturday evening. Sir Joseph Ward presided. In the course of the evening, Sir Joseph was presented with a handsome engraved key, the work and gift of Mr, Grady, a member of the club, as a memento of its opening. An excellent programme of musjc added to the enjoyment of the evening. Mr. Horace Hunt contributed a pianoforte solo; songs were sung by Miss Watkins and Messrs. Fletcher, Doherty, J. Carr, and R. Robertson; Mr. Gardiner gave a whistling solo; Miss May Moore drew lighting sketches of the Prime Minister and the secretary of the club, Mjss Har-dinge-Maltby; recitations were given by Dr. Hay, Mr. Bastings, and Mr. Porter ; Mr. Lampen gave some amusing imitations ; Mr. Alec Newton told stories, and the president showed his skill in ventriloquism. Mrs. Monti ju played all the accompaniments and the music for the dance, with which the evening concluded. A winter sketch exhibition of the cmb is now being held, a will be open to the friends of members and visitors on visiting days. On Wednesday next there will be a musical "At Home," open to members and invited friends.
