ADMISSION OF A BARRISTER.

OPPOSITION WITHDRAWN.

Before a full Bench of the Supreme Court yesterday, Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C-i moved for the admission of John Augustine Quinn as a barrister of the Supreme Court. The matter had been before the last, bitting of the court, wbpn the Auckland Law Society took objection to the application, on the allegation that applicant had some connection with bookmaking. Mr. Brandon, junr., who appeared for the Law Society, said no objection was now offered. The Chief Justice understood applicant has since boen managing clerk for a legal firm. Mr. Skerrett submitted that applicant had long since ceased to have any connection with bookmakers. It was questioned whether any conditions would bo imposed on him' if he were admitted, but counsel urged that the Auckland Law Society offered no objection. Applicant was admitted, and was ordered to pay costs £15 15s.
