AUCTION AND PROPERTY SALES

On Wednesday next, at 1 p.m., at the Fruit Exchange, Messrs Thompson Bros., Ltd., will hold a sale of Bla'okbridge Nursery stock. The list includes roses, carnations, daphnes, violets, lilac, laurel, azaleas, and flowering shrubs. Messrs A. L. Wilson and Co. advertise particulars of a sale they are holding at Berhampore to-morrow, at 1.30, at the residence, 48, Stanley-street, on account of a gentleman leaving for Auckland. On Wednesday, at the resir dence, 72, Thompson-street, the complete contents of eight rooms will be sold. The sale commences at 1.30. On account of the owner giving up housekeeping, the firm have received instructions to sell everything. A sale of timber and iron will be held on Wednesday, at 62, Murphystreet. To-morrow (Tuesday), at 2.30 o'clock, at their Exchange Land Mart, Messrs Kennedy Macdonald, Ltd. will sell a villa residence containing five rooms and conveniences, situate Epuni-street, erected upon a section having a frontage of 29ft 6in by a depth of 100 ft j also, under instructions from the executors in the estate of the late, Mrs. Edward Johnston, in order to close . the estate accounts, a property situate at Lower Hutt, comprising villa residence of seven rooms, with scullery and bathroom, all on one floor, and outbuildings, comprising large stable, trapshed, etc, erected on two sections having a frontage of 185 ft to Waterloo-road by a depth of 400 ft, the total area being 1 acre 2 roods 20 perches. Morrah and Co. will hold an auction sale of furniture and household sundries at their rooms tomorrow, also of a cab and horses. LODGE MEETINGS, ♦ . A' very successful open night was held last Friday evening by the King's Coronation Lodge of Good Templars. There was a large attendance, and Bro. J. Allen, C.T., presided. After routine itenife had been disposed of a capital programme of music and son, arranged by Sisters Rodda and Hansen, was gone through. The performers were : — Sister Hyde, Bros. Hague, Morris, Wilson, Lambert, Brattle, Bell, Price, Knowles, and Israel. Refreshments were also provided. Votes of thanks were accorded 'to the sisters responsible to all who had assisted to make the gathering such a success. During the evening this resolution was carried : ' That this meeting of the King's Coronation Lodge, 1.0. G.T., place on record its entire &ivtisfactioa that the Dominion Allians»a convention recently held in Wellington has adopted as its platform— prohibition for the State on a bare majority." Next meeting is to ■be devoted to two competitions and Dutch auction. Star of Wellington Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held its weekly session in St. Peter's Mission Hall. Bro. Fraser, C.T., pre- j sided over a good attendance of members. Several matters of importance were brought forward and discussed, I and committees were appointed to give effect to resolutions adopted- Fraternal greetings w-ere received irom Auckland, Obristchurch, and, lodgea in Madras. A resolution was carriec 1 expressing entire satisfaction that the Dominion Alliance convention held in Wellington had adopted the bare majority principle. Appreciation was expressed flt the appointment of several members of the Good Templar Order to the Alliance Executive. The lodge, decided to give its sympathy and support to the Brotherhood" movement about to be inaugurated in Wellington. A musical programme wa» gone through and w&» greatly co» joyed.
