The New Zealand Shipping Company has chartered the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Tokomaru, which is due at London about the end of this week from Wellington, to make a voyage from Montreal to Australia and New Zealand. The vessel is to leave Montreal on the 15th August, and is due at Wellington aboHt the 26th October. The Taviuni will not arrive here from Dunedin until to-morrow. She will sail the same afternoon for Picton and West Coast. Before taking up the Monowai's Dunedin to Auckland running on the 12th July, the Navna, due at Dunedin to-day from Westport, will go to Port Chalmers for overhaul. What is claimed to be a record for Australian ports was put up by the French barque Marie at Dunedin. The vessel took on board 1200 tons of ballast in seven days. Early yesterday morning the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruapehu left Wellington for Lyttelton, where she will discharge the remainder of her London cargo. It is expected that the Mana will be placed on the Patent Slip to-morrow for general overhaul. She will resume running about Thursday next. On Friday the Maonland Steam Ship Company's s.s. Enperdale left Geelong for Edtthburg to load salt for New Zealand. The novel sight of a vessel ashore in the harbour caused some excitement in Oamaru on Friday last (says the North Otago Times). When leaving Herelrino harbour with her cargo of limber the Isabella de Praine stiuck the bar with her rudder, which cisplaced an iron clasp. Haulage apparatus "isd to be requisitioned.
