MINING NEWS.

KING GOLD MINING COMPANY. At the first directors' meeting of the King Gold Mining Company, held in Wellington yesterday, 10,000 shares were alloted, and the company was duly formed. The provisional directors are Messrs. Neil M'Lean (Wellington), Joseph M'Cluggage, J.P. (Stratford), Orton Stevens (Wellington), and Robert Latter (Barry's Bay, Canterbury). The company lias been formed to work the gold reefs in the Fiddes and Baucke areas of 200 acres, on the western slopes of the Main Upper Wilberforce Valley, Westland. The firm of Henry Kember and Son was appointed secretary of tlie company.

Notice is given in this weok'e Gazette that native pigeons may be killed, but not sold, by any Maori or half-caste Maori in the counties of Taupo East and West, trom the 14th inst. until 31st July.
