A curious position arose in connection with tha Ladies' Bracelet Handicap, to be- decided at the New Brighton Trotting Club's meeting on Saturday. There are fifty acceptor*, and as it would be obviously dangerous, if not impossible, to start all at once, tho club decided to run two heats, and the final question then arose how tho totalisator should be operated. Now it has been decided to open the machine separately for each heat and close it for the final, then pool the investments and pay out on the first and second horses iv tho final heal. One or two owners object to running the rate in heats, and may apply for a refund of race fees.
