The consensus qf opinion in Calcutta is that prohibition of emigration will be enforced against Natal unless she ameliorates the treatment of fiee Indians. The Secretary for Commerce and Industry last week introduced a Bill in the Legislative Council of Calcutta giving the Government power to prohibit emigration to any country where the treatment accorded to British Indians does not meet with the approval of the Governor-General.
