It contained magnificent vases, bowls, and bracelets betweon 2000 and 3000 yeas old. Rheims is the ancient Gallic town Durocortorum, chief town of the Remi (whence the name, originally Remi). On the Montagne de Rheims, south of the city, there aro several Gallo-Roman remains.
