NEWS OF A MISSING STEAMER.
ASHORE ON COSMOLEDO ISLAND. By Telegraph. — Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 26th March. The steamer Loodiana, which has been missing since she left Mauritius for Colombo on 10th January, is ashore on Cosmoledo Island (in the Indian Ocean). She carried ten Europeans and 70 other passengers, also a cargo valued at £63,000. Search efforts had nitherto proved fruitless. The Loodiana is a steel three-masted steamer of 3269 tons gross register, built in 1884 by Denny Bros., Dumbarton. She is owned by the British India Steam Navigation Company.
