PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT. SATURDAY'S PLAY. A high wind, surcharged with dust, made the afternoon's tennis in the Provincial Tournament rather unpleasant on Saturday. It was decidedly detrimental to accurate play. Closely contested games characterised the last stages of the men's ringlet. Smythe met Cox in the and gave him a hard run fpr it. The firrt set went in favonr of Cox by 8 to 6 j the second by an easier margin of 6 to 4. Tho final wan between Cox and Swaiihton and the latter player with the advantage of fresbnecs rather comfortably vanquished his adversary, 6—4, 6—4.6 — 4. In the Men k Double* Brown and Pronte beat Ward and Sheppard, but went down before Cox and Swanrton in the final, 6—3, 7—5. Mies Nunneley carried all before her in the Ladies' Single*, and will meet .Mim Travers in the final this afternoon. Mits Williams and Miss Nunneley meet Mr*. Holmes and Mi*s Batham in the double*. Third Round — Miss Morgan beat Mies Webb, 9—6; Miss Davis beat Mits Howe 9—3. Ladies' Doubles. — Final : Mrs. Burton and Miss Morgan beat Misses Bennett and Home, 9—2. Combined Doubles. — Second round : Miss Dimant and Ward beat Mrs. Burton and Holm wood, 9—4 ; Miss Rothschild and Howe best Miss Morgan and Sheppard. 10-8. Ladies' Doubles. — Second round : Mrs. Holmes and Mini Batham beat Mien Traverß and Miss Merchant, 7—5.7 — 5. 7—5. Junior Championship*. — Men's single* : Final— Eller beat Wright, 9—lo, 7—5, 6—4. Ladies' Single*. — Second round : Miss Morgan beat Mit-s Atmore, 10 — 8 ; Miss Webb beat M»k Plimmer, 9—2; Mits Davis beat Mim Williams, 9—2. The winner of the junior championship was F. Eller who beat Wright after a hard fight in the final. Following are the details: — Men's Singles — Third round : C. C. Oox beat G. c. Smythe, B—6, 6—4; final— R.W. K. Swanston beat C. C.
