All Europe appeals to have become aware of Japan's lesolvc to make- the costly display of its aits aud merchandise at Shepherd's Bush an irresistible attraction. The principal railways on the Continent report that already they are making arrangements for excursions to London in May and June, "on a scale hitherto unknown in the history of European exhibitions." Their chief commissioner in London, Count Muttu, is expecting, with well-grounded confidence, "millions of foreign visitor*, among whom the exhibitors may count on fi largo number of prospective customers." The Empire festival has becri referred to as a rival show, but it will scarcely amount to that because of its comparatively brief duration. It is inmouncrd that the organisers hope to receive and entertain at least 1000 delegates from the oversea dominions and othr parts of th» Empire. The Duke cf Norfolk i.« pi<>j«ident of a committee whirh is arranging for th<> loi-ep-tion of this British "family party," ns it is called.
