A CLAIM FOR WAGES.
A claim for wages was made by Chas. , H. J. Anderson, engineer, assignor, and/ Chas. Pratt and Co., commercial agents', assignees, from Norman Heath arid J. J. K. Powell, trading as NormanHeath and" Co., engineers, in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M. Plaintiff Anderson, who claimed to recover -J376 3s -7d, had been employed' by defendants, at £5 per week subsequent to tho completion of the erection of the Wellington destructor, on which he was engaged. Defendants brought a contra action for £31 11s 6d, advances made, etc. It was _urged that claimant Anderson's salary ~was £4 per week. Defendants paid £1 7s 9d into court, which they admitt-. Ed was due to Anderson. Judgment, was for defendants on both actions', with costs £3 16s. Mr. Dunn was fojr plaintiffs, and Mr. 0. Beere for ~'defendants.
