At the wool sales a good selection was offered, and competition for good wools was well maintained. Faulty and average wools were occasionally in buyers' favour. The top price for Kaitangata was 13£ d per lb, and the average ll^d ; Kynuna, top 23d, average 22£ d. To-date 45,567 bales have been cata* logued and 42,246 sold. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cable message from their London house, under date 26th instant : — Wool. — Sales conj tinue active with brisk competition. As | compared with last sales'" closing rates, prices for heavy, earthy, and wasty merino wools are fully 5 per cent, lower. Abraham and Williams, Limited, have received the following cable from London under date 26th instant :—": — " The wool market continues firm, with coarse crossbred 5 per cent, up ; merinos 5 per cent, decline.
