MINING NEWS.
The following telegram was received ,l»y the Wellington Stock Exchange today : — "Big River South Mines, mine report for week ending 25th. The contrac,tors have extended the tunnel 25 feet, making 377 feet driven in. Early in • the past week the ground was very liard and progress was slow. Better ground is now snowing in the face. The reef cut in the previous week snows yery fair gold."
