RIGHTS OF INDIANS.

IN THE AFRICAN COLONIES. LORD CREWE QUESTIONED. SHOULD THEY HAVE FREE ACCESS? Bj Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received November 18, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, 17th November. Lord Crewe, replying in the House of Lords to Lord Ampthill, formerly Governor of Madras, and Acting- Viceroy of India, regarding British Indians in the Transvaal, said Ministers in the Transvaal were willing, if opportunity offered, to repeal No. 2 Act of 1907. Regarding the theoretical grievance, added the Colonial Secretary, he thought his Majesty's subjects ought to have free access to all his dominions. Signs of a movement in that direction in the dominions were not apparent, but there rather seemed to be a hardening in the i other direction. Ho hoped that the South African Union Pailiament would take a broad view of the- matter.
